In this subject, students investigate the revival of painting in the 1980s and the pluralism of approaches to art practice that characterise the contemporary scene. Emphasis is placed on the variety of approaches dominating the current discourse of visual art including deconstruction, post-colonialism, gender and global issues.

CUA51125 Diploma of Visual Arts


This subject is made up of two study units. Each unit runs for a 2.75-hour class session over a 12-week term. Units can be enrolled in any order or as a single unit of study if chosen. Both units complete the art history requirement for the CUA51125 Diploma of Visual Art and CUA50920 Diploma of Photography & Digital Imaging, enabling students to progress to the Advance Diploma.
